Vadodara, Nov 03: India has allowed a Pakistan High Commission official to visit Jamnagar in Gujarat on November 3 for issuing temporary passports to 93 Pakistani fishermen. Lodged in jails at Okha, Porbandar, Junagadh, Bhuj and other places, the Indian Fishermen Association said Saturday.
Pakistan High Commission official Khalid Jhamali was allowed permission by the Centre to visit Jamnagar and issue temporary passports, association president Valjibhai Masani told reporters here.
He said Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs A K Singh has informed him of the decision Friday.
Masani held Pakistan responsible for delay in issuing of temporary passports to 93 Pakistani fishermen after India agreed to release them more than two months ago at the initiative of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
