Britain on Friday ordered financial institutions to freeze the assets of Pakistan based militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed and 37 individuals and organisations, suspected of supporting or being involved in terrorism. Another Pakistan-based organisation brought under the ambit was the Rabita Trust of Lahore. “Today's list is a result of intelligence sharing and coordination between the UK and the US,” treasury chief Gordon Brown, said. The treasury did not say whether any assets had actually been frozen as a result of the order. Besides Jaish-e-Mohammed and Rabita Trust, the other organisations banned under Britan's Terrorism Act included Al-Hamati, sweets bakeries and Al-Shifa' honey press for industry and commerce of Yemen, and Jam'yah ta'awun al-Islamia or Society of Islamic Cooperation of Kandahar city.
