New Delhi, Nov 12: India and the US have agreed to boost bilateral cooperation in the fields of renewable energy, climate modelling and integrated environment strategy. During a meeting between union Environment and Forests Minister T R Baalu and a visiting American delegation comprising US Assistant Commerce Secretary David Garman and senior climate change negotiator Hartan Watson, the two sides yesterday decided to cooperate on the hydrogen fuel initiative launched by US President George W Bush this year, an official release said here today.
The Indian side appreciated the objectives of the programme and wherein the US is spending about USD 1.2 billion for commercialisation of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and infrastructure in the coming 20 years, the release said.
Experts from the two countries would meet on how to incorporate Indian conditions into the programme.
