Jodhpur, Sept 05: A local court here asked police to produce a key witness in the poaching case against Bollywood actor Salman Khan who is not attending the hearing dates for cross examination for more than a year. Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Mallik yesterday directed police to produce Harish Dulani, driver of the gypsy allegedly used by khan for shooting protected wild animals here in 1998, on the next hearing on October 7 and 8.

Dulani had first appeared before the court on January 24 last year to record his statement as a prosecution witness in which he narrated in detail as to how the accused killed black bucks and chinkaras at Bhawad village. The witness was to appear again before the court on March 20 last year but failed do so on that date and 17 subsequent dates too.

Police reported the court that Dulani had shifted from his earlier address and no one knows his whereabouts.

However, the court again asked police and the public prosecutor to try to deliver summons to the witness.
