Shillong, Oct 14: The All-India Postal Badminton tournament got off to a colourful start here today. Shuttlers from 17 circles of the department are participating in the meet. DGP L Sailo inaugurated the five-day tournament.
Postal employees from Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Chandigarh, Delhi, Maharashtra and hosts North-Eastern circles were participating in the tourney.
The Chief Postmaster-General of N-E Cirlce, P K Chatterjee, told reporters that the main purpose of organising this meet was to encourage talents within the employees and also to promote a feeling of understanding among them since the postal job involved networking.
