Bhubaneswar, June 13: The Orissa Gana Parishad today demanded a CBI inquiry into the attack on Union Minister for Consumer Welfare, Food and Public Distribution, Sharad Yadav at the Biju Patnaik Airport here. "It was a plot to kill him," OGP president Bijoy Mohapatra told reporters. Demanding an inquiry by the CBI immediately, he blamed the police for the security lapse. Yadav was heckled and manhandled at the airport on his arrival here from Delhi by a group of about 100 protestors in which his kurta got torn.
The demonstrators, under the banner Orissa Dhana Chasi Surakhya Parishad, were protesting FCI's failure to purchase paddy from farmers in the state. Bureau Report
