The seven-day long strike by Uttar Pradesh government employees ended in Lucknow on Thursday night following detailed discussions with Chief Secretary, A P Verma.
A release issued by the Uttar Pradesh state employees confederation, which had given the call for the strike said here today that the government has agreed to several of the suggestions of the confederation.
General Secretary of the confederation, Jageshwar Prasad, however, said that the assurances of the Chief Secretary were not enough and warned that the employees might be forced to go back on strike if the government failed to take concrete steps in one week's time.
