Srinagar, June 28: President A P J Abdul Kalam today said the people should build a "bridge of love" for connecting various religions to realise the happiness promised in their teachings.
“I am on a pilgrimage looking for what these religions offer. When I am there, they all offer divine package of happiness. But when I come out something is missing,” Kalam said in his address to 1200 students of Government College for Women here today.
Kalam said, "A bridge of love was needed to be built to connect various religions to realise the happiness promised in their teachings. Love should connect religions. We cannot have divine happiness without love." "People of Kashmir are beautiful and so are their children ... Religions are also beautiful. Holy books you read, religious preachers you meet, offer you a divine package of happiness. It should blossom in the body and give me happiness,” added the President.
Turning his attention to teachers, he said, "They are a great positive force in transforming students into responsible citizens especially the women who are instrumental in shaping the future of the society.” Bureau Report
