Patna, July 29: Concerned over the series of agitations over kidnapping of an eight-year-old school boy and bank manager, Bihar governor M Rama Jois today summoned home secretary and Director General of Police for discussions. Raj Bhavan sources said the governor called home secretary B K Haldar and DGP D P Ojha to discuss the progress made towards the recovery of the boy Siddhant Parmar, the nephew of a Bihar minister and Punjab National Bank manager R D Sharma a few days ago.

The kidnappings had led to a bandh in parts of the state capital and closure of banks in Patna and Rohtas districts yesterday.

A fortnight back, the governor at a meeting with chief secretary and other top civil and police officials expressed concern over the rise in cases of kidnapping and extortion threats to businessmen and directed them to tone up the law and order situation.
Siddhant, nephew of Bihar sugarcane minister Raghvendra Pratap Singh and son of a state bank of India officer Sanjay Singh, was kidnapped while waiting for his school bus near Jag Deo path here on Thursday. Sharma was abducted by armed miscreants the next day in Rohtas district.

The issue also had its echo in the state assembly today with an angry NDA forcing the adjournment of the house during Zero Hour.
