New Delhi, July 22: An unrelenting opposition in the
Lok Sabha today pressed for resignation of Deputy Prime
Minister L K Advani for the second consecutive day over
"dropping" of conspiracy charge against him in the Babri
Masjid demolition case as the house witnessed uproarious
scenes, forcing its adjournment for 90 minutes.
Immediately after a discussion on the terrorist killings
in Jammu and Kashmir during the question hour, agitated
members from the Congress, Samajwadi Party, RJD and left
parties stormed the well shouting slogans "Advani Istifa do"
(Advani should resign).
As the pandemonium continued, members from TDP, an ally
of ruling NDA, trooped to the well protesting against
construction of 'illegal" dams in upper Tunga river by
Karnataka, saying this had stopped water supply to Krishna
river creating a crisis for Andhra Pradesh.
