Over 500 Ayodhya-bound VHP activists detrained in WB
Kolkata, Oct 15: Nearly 500 Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) activists were detrained at Sealdah, Kharagpur and Bandel stations in West Bengal in the last three days to prevent them from reaching Ayodhya for Friday`s `Sankalp Divas`.

prevent them from reaching Ayodhya for Friday's 'Sankalp
Divas'.
Police said that the GRP personnel detected the 'Ram
bhakts' on board the Jammu-Tawi Express trains and
ordered them off.
Since October 10, nearly 500 'Ram bhakts' were detrained
in the state.
Officials said that the administration had issued a statewide alert against the activities of the VHP, particularly on Friday, when the Parishad would observe 'Sankalp Divas'.
VHP sources here claimed that since October 10, over 5,000 'Ram bhakts' had left West Bengal for Ayodhya to participate in Friday's programme. Bureau Report
