London, Dec 08: Stating that a split in secular votes was the main reason for the defeat of Congress in recent assembly elections in three of the four states, RJD leader Laloo Prasad Yadav has suggested formation of a national-level front led by Congress "to counter the BJP-led ruling NDA" if secular forces want to free the nation from "control of communal forces." "Time has come for the secular parties to form an all India alliance, led by the Congress to fight the next Lok Sabha elections, just as the BJP managed a formidable alliance of communal forces, called the NDA", Laloo said.

He said "to defeat the NDA, it is important for all secular parties to join hands, have a proper seat adjustment to avoid a split in secular votes, and then launch a joint campaign to expose the misdeeds of the BJP-led communal government at the Centre."

Claiming the "NDA government has been a total failure on all fronts," Laloo said. "It is the most corrupt government since independence."

Stating that it has compromised on national security, the former Bihar chief minister said, "Under the Nda government, neither the borders of the country nor the parliament are safe today. This government has only promoted the poison of communalism in the country." Bureau Report
