Srinagar, Nov 05: A day after killing a leader of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, militants today shot dead a wild life official and National Conference supporter close to Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's official residence at the high security Maulana Azad Road here. Ghulam Ahmad Reshi, a range officer in the Wild Life Department and supporter of opposition National Conference, was shot in the temple with a silencer fitted pistol around 1300 hours, official sources said.
He was rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead, they said.
Reshi was on the hit list of militants and had been provided security.
Yesterday militants had shot dead senior PDP leader Ghulam Mohammad Ganai at Pampore in Pulwama district of the state.
