Bina, (MP), June 29: Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today laid the foundation stone for Bharat Petroleum`s marketing terminal and Bina-Jhansi-Kanpur product pipeline at the Bina Refinery Complex at Agasod about 10 km from here. The marketing terminal and the pipeline, involving an investment of Rs 463 crore and Rs 453 crore respectively, are of major significance to the Central India Refinery Project at Bina.
The marketing terminal will have ultra-modern facilities for storage of finished petroleum products and their dispatch through rail, road and pipeline. The 360 km-long pipeline would ensure transfer of products to Jhansi and Kanpur for their distribution in the high demand markets around these cities.
The grass-root refinery having a capacity of six million tonnes per annum, along with crude oil import facilities at Vadinar in Gujarat and pipeline from Vadinar to Bina, is estimated to cost Rs 6,354 crores. Bureau Report
