Jabalpur, Sept 16: Vehicular traffic between Jabalpur and Bhopal was paralysed today following submergence of roads and major bridges due to heavy rain and fresh floods in river Narmada and its tributary Hiran, official sources said. A Madhya Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation spokesman said a bridge on river Hiran at Katangi village, about 40 km from here on Jabalpur-Bhopal state highway was under eight feet deep water disrupting traffic to Damoh, Sagar and Bhopal. Similarly, movement of vehicles on another route from Jabalpur to Damoh via Patan is also suspended due to inundation of vast stretch of roads.

Vehicular traffic on Jabalpur-Mirzapur National Highway via Sehora and Katni was also suspended yesterday owing to overflowing Hiran which blocked the bridge near Sehora. Bureau Report
