New Delhi, Dec 08: Former Union minister Dilip Singh Judeo and his personal secretary Natwar Rateria today again failed to keep their date with the CBI and did not turn up for questioning in the cash-on-camera scam.
The duo, who have been served notices by the CBI to appear before the agency, did not come up again despite assurances on their behalf that they would show up today before the agency sleuths.
CBI sources said there was no intimation from their side till late in the evening whether they would be appearing for questioning in connection with the scam.
CBI had served them notices last month and on December 06 again asking them to appear before the agency.
Sources had said their questioning would help the agency in ascertaining whether to convert the preliminary enquiry into a regular case under the Prevention of Corruption Act or go for further probe.
Rateria's questioning may be very crucial as it may help in identifying other persons who were inside the hotel room when Judeo was allegedly being paid the bribe.
Meanwhile, questioning of the hotel staff continued today for the third day to ascertain who were in the room when the videotape purportedly showing Judeo as accepting bribe was shot and who had booked the room. Bureau Report
