Assembly mourns the death of Byre Gowda
Bangalore, July 29: Karnataka legislative assembly today paid rich tributes to its sitting member and state unit president of All India Progressive Janata Dal C Byre Gowda recalling his services to the farming community, poor and downtrodden.
Bangalore, July 29: Karnataka legislative assembly today paid rich tributes to its sitting member and state unit president of All India Progressive Janata Dal C Byre Gowda recalling his services to the farming community, poor and downtrodden.
Chief Minister S M Krishna described Byre Gowda as an
upright man and leader of the masses while paying tributes to
the departed leader.
Byre Gowda was a pro-active leader of farmers and never compromised on ideologies and principles to which he was wedded throughout his life, Krishna said.
Recalling his long standing association with Byre Gowda Krishna said in the death of the AIPJD leader, the state has lost champion of poor and farmers and his demise had caused an irreparable loss to the state.
Speaker M V Venkatappa, opposition BJP leader Jagadish Shettar, B Somashekhar (AIPJD), law and parliamentary affairs minister D B Chandregowda, urban development minister D K Shivakumar, mines and geology minister V Muniyappa, S S Patil (AIPJD), P G R Sindhya (JDU) and C Chennigappa (JDS) joined the house in paying homage to Byre Gowda.
The house observed a minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul and was adjourned for the day.
Krishna later visited the residence of Byre Gowda and placed a wreath on the body.
