A local court of Patiala on Thursday recorded
statements of four witnesses in a case relating to the hijack
of Indian Airlines airbus to Kandahar while on a flight from
Kathmandu to New Delhi in 1999.
The statements of Nadeem, a guest house owner, Mohd
Sajid, a waiter at a hotel, P S Wahal, CID Inspector and Hyder
Ali were recorded in camera in the court of designated Judge S
N Aggarwal at Patiala.
The cross-examination could not take place as Defence
Counsels Brijinder Singh Sodhi and H V Rai did not attend the
proceedings after the court rejected their applications for a
'fair trial'.
