Chandigarh, Nov 09: Lovers of astronomical spectacles are in for a special treat with a total eclipse of the moon, partly visible from India, set to occur in the early hours of November nine.
The eclipse will occur from 0502 to 0835 IST, a spokesman of meteorological department said here.
The beginning of the partial phase of the eclipse will be visible all over India. However, the beginning of the total phase will be visible only from the northern, north-western and western parts, he said.
Some of the important places where beginning of totality will be visible are Amritsar, Chandigarh, Dehra Dun, Delhi, Hardwar, Shimla, Srinagar, Ujjain, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Jaipur, Mt Abu and Udaipur, the spokesman said.
The end of neither totality nor the partial phase of the eclipse will not be visible from anywhere in the country, he said.



The spokesman said the eclipse will be visible from Asia (except the eastern parts), Africa, Europe, including British Isles, Atlantic Ocean, part of Antarctica, Greenland, the Americas, Arctic region and eastern Pacific Ocean.
