New Delhi, Sept 15: Twenty-four hours after crossing the Wagah border, Indian and Pakistani businessmen began to talk to each other to build trust and expand trade ties. However, in an indication of the tough road ahead, government representatives from both countries attacked each other over Kashmir.

While Pakistan’s high commissioner Aziz Ahmed Khan called for a resolution to the Kashmir dispute to provide the right atmosphere for businesses to flourish, external affairs minister Yashwant Sinha urged Pakistan not to allow differences on Kashmir to hamper business.
Businesspersons from both sides have come together to work towards better bilateral trades despite the political bickerings.
“India seeks normal trade relations with Pakistan. We would like to promote trade in a manner that people of both countries benefit,” said Sinha. He also asked Pakistan to give India the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status and remove all non-tariff barriers. Bureau Report
