Karachi, July 26: Pakistan's foreign minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri called today for foreign secretary level talks with India, suggesting that lower-level talks proposed by New Delhi would not be as effective.
"Foreign secretary level talks must start soon as Pakistan wants to resolve all outstanding issues with India including Kashmir," Kasuri told reporters in the southern port city of Karachi.
"Talks at much lower level then at the foreign secretary level as proposed by India would serve no purpose. "We are prepared for talks on bilateral level or trilateral level and the delay is not from our side," Kasuri said.
"Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali is even ready to go to New Delhi, but let's start at the foreign secretary level first." "Pakistan has done enough to control any infiltration, but nowhere in the world can it be stopped completely," Kasuri said, responding to Indian allegations Islamabad was not reining in militants on its side. "Those who want to kill themselves do not take dictation, but we can motivate them for peace."
