Lucknow, Sept 18: Seven members of the dreaded Bawaria gang were arrested today after a brief encounter in Ashiana area in the city, police said.

Four country made pistols and a large number of cartridges were recovered from them, they said. Acting on a tip-off, a police patrol party intercepted the gang members and challenged them. The gang opened fire on the patrol party, police said.
