Kumbakonam, Jan 11: TNCC chief G K Vasan today expressed the confidence that the dmk-congress alliance in Tamil Nadu, would be able to bag all the 40 Lok Sabha seats in the state and in Pondicherry.

He told newsmen here that the alliance had a "bright future.
On the Cauvery water issue, he blamed both the state and the central governments for not taking appropriate action to get the release of Cauvery waters from Karnataka. Following the non-availability of Cauvery, the entire samba crop in an area of 1.45 lakh acres were withering, he said and demanded that state and the central governments give a compensation of Rs 850 per acre to delta farmers in the state before the Lok Sabha polls were announced.
