Allahabad, Sep 02: As the district administration prevented him from entering Ghaziabad, the Allahabad High Court today directed the administration to permit VHP international general secretary Praveen Bhai Togadia to participate in a felicitation function in his honour at Gajraula scheduled for this afternoon. The court gave the permission following an undertaking by the petitioners counsels V K S Chaudhari and A B Saran that Togadia would not distribute tridents at the function.

Directing the district magistrate to maintain law and order at Gajraula in view of the felicitation function, Justice R C Deepak asked the state government counsel to inform about the order to the district administration immediately for its compliance. The direction came on a petition filed by an advocate Praduman Tiwari challenging the order of additional district magistrate of August 31 last which prohibited Togadia from participating in the function.

The official, besides prohibiting the entry of Togadia in the district, had also imposed Section 144 of criminal procedure code in the district.
Earlier, Togadia today was prevented from entering the district as the authorities feared that his presence might disturb peace in the area. Bureau Report
