Aizawl, Oct 27: Three Congress leaders, including a former party legislator, today joined the ruling Mizo National Front ahead of the Mizoram Assembly polls slated for November 20. F Lalthlamuana, Rochhunga Ralte and Lalbiakthanga Panchuau told newsmen that they could not continue under the leadership of former chief minister and PCC chief Lal Thanhawla who was charge-sheeted by police on two corruption cases.
"The AICC failed to axe the corruption-tainted leader under whom the Congress party can never win the assembly polls as the people had already axed him," Ralte said.
They said the development works taken up by the MNF government made the people of the state proud and the present government must continue to complete the infrasturcture development.
Lalthlamuana and Ralte along with senior Congress leader Dr C Silvera had met party president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi recently and asked for a change in the state PCC leadership.
