New Delhi, June 20: CPI today condemned the attempts by Sangh Parivar and Vajpayee government to put Kashi and Mathura at par with Ayodhya as "crude" and "to widen the communal agenda and resurrect the divisive issues on the top of political agenda."
In a statement, the party said "the farce of holding talks among community leaders is also aimed at resurrecting this issue. It will further generate bitter controversies and debates and vitiate the communal atmosphere."
The party felt that the only course left on Ayodhya dispute was to expedite the court verdict on the main issue of title deed and get all the concerned forces to commit to abide by the court verdict.
Stating that the people were fed up with these communal-divisive issues and are more concerned with their socio-economic problems, the party said the strident posture of VHP and other Sangh Parivar outfits will vitiate the communal atmosphere in the country.
"These communal organisations are raising these issues just to disrupt growing unity of the masses on socio-economic issues. Their nefarious attempts need to be foiled," it said.
