India beats Malaysia in Commonwealth men`s team event
Indian men defeated Malaysia 4-1 in their second round Robin match in Group D as the hosts made a perfect start to the 15th Commonwealth table tennis championships winning all their ties in the team events on the opening day in New Delhi on Saturday.

The men, who earlier had a cakewalk against northern Ireland winning 4-0 in a best-of-seven matches tie, did not have to trouble much in their second encounter too while the women had to come from behind to edge out a strong Canada 4-3 in a thrilling second tie after getting a walkover against Ghana in the first.
Chetan Baboor and S Raman won their singles and doubles matches against Malaysia after national champion Soumyadeep Roy had gone down fighting 15-21 21-16 21-23 to Chan Koon Wah in the opening singles.
