Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday charged Congress President Sonia Gandhi of politicising the violence in the state and said Pota would be used against the accused. Speaking to reporters after a peace rally at Kirtistambh ground at Vadodara, he said a thorough investigation would be conducted into the on-going violence.
About Congress President Sonia Gandhi's visit to Gujarat on Wednesday, he said it was politically motivated. “The people of Gujarat would not allow her to succeed,” he said.
Lashing out at Sonia for her reference to the state as 'Godse's Gujarat' in a public meeting at Porbander, Modi said, “She did not utter a single word about the plight of the people of the state, who have lost their dear ones as well as their property, in the riots.”

He challenged her to file cases about ill-treatment of women.
Modi said the state government would add its contribution to the Rs 150 crore rehabilitation package announced by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and implement it within four months. Bureau Report
