Patna, June 26: Disappointed over delay in publication of results, four students of the Darbhanga Dental College made a suicide bid by consuming excess sedative drugs last night. On getting information, police immediately rushed to the college and admitted the students, including a girl, to the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), official sources said.
Attending doctors said condition of one student, Kamalsen Gupta, was critical while the remaining three were out of danger.
Suicide notes recovered from the possession of the students revealed that they had taken the step since despite making rounds of Patna High Court and repeated representations to the governor, Magadh University, Dental Council of India and other authorities their grievances were not redressed and their careers stood ruined, police said.
Earlier in the day, the students had staged a demonstration here urging the Magadh University to conduct their examination at the earliest.
Kamalsen Gupta hailed from Kolkata, while the other three Masud Nazaki, Pervez Ahmad and the girl Sultanat belonged to Jammu and Kashmir, the sources said. Bureau Report
