Two people, including an ULFA militant, were killed in separate incidents in Guwahati and Nalbari towns in Assam since Thursday night, police said in Guwahati on Friday.
Unidentified extremists gunned down a pharmacist in Nalbari town on Friday morning near his shop and fled from the spot, police said.

In another incident, an ULFA militant was shot dead by patrolling CRPF personnel a little after midnight on Thursday night at Zoo-Narengi Road in the heart of the city. The incident occurred as the security personnel opened fire on a group of six youths travelling in three scooters coming from Birubari area when they refused to stop after being asked, killing one of them on the spot.
The others managed to flee, police said adding a search operation have been launched to nab the other youths and security throughout the state has been intensified following stepped up violence in the past few weeks. Bureau Report
