New Delhi, July 21: Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav today accused the Centre of "misusing" CBI to "dilute" the chargesheet against Union ministers L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi in the Babri Masjid demolition case.
"The CBI is an independent body and the Centre is misusing it to serve its political objective," Yadav told reporters when asked whether his party would bring an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha on the matter.
Opposition parties yesterday decided to bring an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha on the issue of "misuse" of CBI by government.
On the controversial Taj corridor project, Yadav alleged a private contractor was involved in the project and this should be exposed by CBI during the course of its probe.
Alleging involvement of Chief Minister Mayawati in the project, he said the Union tourism ministry also did not pay much attention to the controversy surrounding the project.
