Hyderabad, July 09: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today sanctioned Rs one lakh for the ailing shehnai maestro Bismillah Khan. In a letter addressed to the revered artiste, the Chief Minister expressed "solidarity with the world renowned artiste who is known to have never performed for money and who is the living legend of Indian classical music".
"The gesture is only a token of love, affection and gratitude of people of the state towards the maestro,” Naidu said in the letter, according to an official release here today.
