New Delhi, July 15: India today said it was awaiting technical level talks with Pakistan on the issue of resumption of civil aviation links. "One of the things we are waiting for is technical level talks on civil aviation," external affairs ministry spokesman told reporters. New Delhi has sought clarifications from Islamabad on the question of overflights. On its part, Pakistan has sought guarantees from India on the issue of overflights.

At present, flights emanating from the two countries have to undertake long detours to fly to even neighbouring countries. Asked what was India looking at next with high commissioner-designate Shiv Shanker Menon today reaching Pakistan, the spokesman said "we will have to see how things go on".
