Surat, Nov 02: Gujarat government today ordered an inquiry into the bus tragedy at Panchgani in Maharashtra late last night claiming 24 lives. Surat range IG M K Tandon would conduct the inquiry and submit his report in a month, official sources said. Twenty-four people, 10 men, 10 women and four children, were killed and 33 others injured when a luxury bus from Gujarat plunged into a valley near Panchagani in Satara district after the driver lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a sharp curve.
The bus belonging to S G Tourism and Travels was going to Pune from Mahabaleshwar.
Most of the passengers hailed from Surat.
