New Delhi, Nov 28: Observing that India has succeeded in convincing the world that terrorism is the core issue in Kashmir, after terror strikes in the U S, Britain on Wednesday said Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's commitment to stop all support to cross-border terrorism "must be carried through". "Progress has been made. More needs to be done," British High Commissioner Sir Rob Young said, condemning in the "strongest terms" the November 24 terrorist attacks on temples in Jammu.
Asserting that cross-border terrorism must stop, he said "The UK and the US have been working hard to achieve that".
Addressing the United Service Institution of India here, Young said his Government supported India's candidature for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council.
"The UK has been a constant supporter of India's efforts to bring international agreements on terrorism together in the framework of a Comprehensive Convention on Terrorism," the British envoy said. Bureau Report
