Kolkata, Aug 10: Cricket Board today said it could not commit to play in any tri-nation tournament involving Pakistan unless it received clearance from the government. Reacting to a report from Islamabad that the Australian Cricket Board had offered to play a triangular One-Day series with India and Pakistan next year, BBCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya told a news agency that the board had not made any commitment. "We have neither committed anything nor will do so unless we get a go ahead from our government," Dalmiya said. He, however, clarified that the board would look into the possibility of playing in tri-nation or four-nation tournament involving Pakistan at a neutral venue, "but everything depends on clearance from the government."
Dalmiya's comments came a day after the Pakistan Cricket Board chief Lt Gen Tauqir Zia said ACB had offered to play the Triangular Tournament after the world cup next year to compensate Pakistan for revenue losses due to its cancellation of a scheduled test tour in October.
