Jammu, June 23: Militants attacked two high altitude police posts in Udhampur district, while security forces busted two hideouts and recovered a huge cache of explosives, including 51 mortar shells and 30 kg of RDX, in Rajouri and Poonch districts of J&K, official sources here today. A group of heavily armed militants hurled nine to ten rifle grenades at IND and Bhim Mandhir posts in Udhampur district last night, the sources said. The policemen guarding the posts retaliated and the firing exchange continued for five hours intermittently, the sources said, adding an operation was on to track down the militants in the area.

No causalities were reported in the firing, the sources said.
Troops also busted two militant hideouts in Hill Kaka (Surankote forests) and Kote Dhara in Poonch and Rajouri district last night and recovered 51 mortar shells, five IEDs, three UBGL, one flame thrower, 225 Pika rounds, 30 kgs of RDX, 60 detonators, 10 pipes and 11 magzines besides large quantity of household goods, the sources said.

One person identified as Munshi was arrested in this connection, the sources said.
Also, police recovered a bullet-riddled body of one Gulam Rasool from Banihal area in Doda today.
