AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa after winning the Andipatti seat said that she wanted to make AIADMK a national party.
In an interview to the channel said that though the party's name was All India Anna Dravida Munnentra Kazhagam, it was still a regional party. "I want to make it a national party. That is my dream and life ambition', she said.
Jayalalithaa said that AIADMK's manifesto released during the 2001 assembly polls had pledged to develop Tamil Nadu as a model state in the country. 'I will strive to fulfill all those promises," she said.
Jayalalithaa, who is set to take over as chief minister of the state, said AIADMK was a party with disciplined 'soliders'. "If any other party had faced the challenges like my party, it would have split and disintegrated but my partymen gave me the strength to fight all the challenges. I am grateful to them," she said.
