This time there is no chance for a absolute majority to any party in Mizoram Assembly. If the result will come out with a clear cut mandate then it will the first time Mizoram will face the Hung Assembly.
This time there is no possibility for Clear mandate to any party in Mizoram. Barely three days are left before Mizoram goes to poll on November 20 still there is no visible tide in favour of any of the political parties in the fray. Majority of common voters are still confused as to whom to choose to rule that State for the next five years. Initially, at the beginning all the parties decided to fight the polls alone. But later Mizo People’s Conference (MPC) and the newly formed Zoram Nationalist Party (ZNP) opted for a pre-poll alliance to brighten their chances in the polls.
In this scenario, the State is likely to have a hung Assembly after the polls. The contest, however, is amongst three groups — the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF), Congress, and coalition of Mizo People’s Conference (MPC) and Zoram Nationalist Party (ZNP).
