Jaipur, July 09: Rajasthan government today ordered an inquiry into the supervisory and managerial lapses, which led to the death of two inmates of a mental hospital here.
Jaipur, July 09: Rajasthan government today ordered an inquiry into the supervisory and managerial lapses, which led to the death of two inmates of a mental hospital here.
Deputy secretary, health has been directed to hold a detailed inquiry into the supervisory and managerial lapses which led to the incident, an official release issued by state Health Minister B D Kalla said.
The decision was taken after submission of preliminary inquiry report by the special secretary, health. Preliminary investigation had revealed that Baba Khan, an inmate, had tied two other inmates to a bed and set it on fire resulting in their death.
The government has asked hospital authorities to take disciplinary action against a supervisor and head of nurse staff apart from issuing show cause notice to additional superintendent of the mental hospital. Taking notice of several lapses mentioned in the report submitted by special secretary, government has asked mental hospitals to take steps for efficient running of the mental hospital, including installation of close circuit TV with central monitors, the release said.
It also directed the hospital authorities to paste the photograph of every patient along with their detailed case history in their treatment book.
It also asked for separation of general patients from patients with criminal background or criminal bent of mind. Bureau Report
