Ranchi, Apr 23: Jharkhand doctors have launched a statewide strike from midnight in protest against the abduction of a doctor in Ranchi district who still remains untraced. Emergency services and autopsies would be kept out of the purview of the agitation, called in protest against the kidnapping of Umesh Kumar Sinha -- a doctor attached with a primary health centre in Hazaribagh and was abducted on April 17. All district units met last night to finalise the duration of the strike. Meanwhile the whereabouts of Sinha, abducted from NH 33 near Ghutupali Ghati in Ranchi district, is not yet known. The Hazaribagh doctors on Sunday struck work for 24 hours in protest against the abduction.
