Valencia, May 17: Qualification for the Seve Trophy team competition, which has returned to the European Tour, will follow the new system for the Ryder Cup, officials said on Friday.
The Ryder Cup-style event, where Continental Europe take on Britain and Ireland, had originally been struck off the 2003 European Tour schedule after problems finding a venue.
It will now be held in Valencia, Spain, from 7-9 November. The 10-man teams will be comprised of four players from the world golf rankings, four from the European Tour Order of Merit, captains Colin Montgomerie and Seve Ballesteros and one wild card each.
The qualifying process began with the Asian Open last November and will continue through to the Madrid Open on 23-26 October.

The Continental Europe team will attempt to regain the trophy lost to Great Britain & Ireland at Druids Glen last April.
