New Delhi, Sept 30: Indian Airlines today beat Sri Lankan Airways on a back-nine count-back to annex the first India tourism global interline golf championship played at the par-72 classic golf resort at Gurgaon.
The count-back was necessitated after the two teams tied at a score of 129 nett.
The two-day tournament, sponsored by the ministry of tourism, was played to promote India as a golfing destination.
Jet airways finished third at a tally of 131 nett.

Indian Airlines was represented by Dinesh Ahluwalia and M P Singh while Sri Lankan Airways team comprised Navin de Silva and S Rao. Jet airways was represented by Akbar Hussain and J B Singh.

In the individual nett category for foreign participants, T Miyano tallied 66 nett to win. Among the Indian participants in the same category, G S Heera stole the show with a score of 68 nett.
Argentinean ambassador HE Ge Biritos won in the lowest individual gross category among the foreign participants with a score of 82.
Among the Indians, former cricketer Ajay Jadeja bagged top honors with a gross score of 78.
The overall lowest nett score of 36 holes was carded by Capt. Navin de Silva who returned 130 nett while with 160 gross returned the overall lowest gross score over 36 holes.
Among the ladies, Deepa Gulati topped with a score 150 nett while C Houton finished second at 157. Nalin Chandoke scorched the 10th hole with a superb 283-yard effort off the tee to win the logest drive prize on that hole. Bureau Report
