Mumbai: Melody Queen Lata Mangeshkar today paid tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on the occasion of his 119th birth anniversary.

The 86-year-old singer took to twitter to salute the freedom fighter.


"Greetings. Today is the 119th birth anniversary of the greatest freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. I pay my tribute to his great personality," Mangeshkar posted on twitter.


Filmmaker Subhash Ghai also paid tribute to Bose on the micro-blogging site.


"My mother told me that my maternal grandfather - big fan of Subhash Chandra Bose - kept my name Subhash because I was born on January 24 morning. Since then I have been his fan too," the 'Taal' director wrote.


Actress- Gul Panag wrote, "Happy birthday Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. May your ideals continue to inspire yet more generations to come. Salute! #JaiHind."
