Guntur, Apr 06: The Andhra Pradesh government has taken steps to prevent spread of the mysterious Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). Speaking to newspersons here last night, Dr Siva Prasad Rao, Andhra Pradesh minister for health and medical sciences said air passengers arriving from south east Asian countries like Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, and China were screened by medical teams at Hyderabad airport. Special facilities were provided in hospitals at Hyderabad for the treatment of suspected cases of viral disease. "The state government has urged the Centre to import diagnostic kits and make them available to us," he added.
