Madhumani Tripathi files surrender application
Lucknow, Sept 25: Madhumani, wife of former minister Amar Mani Tripathi, who had been arrested by the CBI in connection with the Madhumita Shukla murder case, has filed an application before the special CBI court offering to surrender, court sources said today.

The CBI had already questioned Madhumani in this case twice and after the arrest of Tripathi, the CBI sources have not ruled out the arrest of other people including his family members. Madhumani`s application was filed yesterday, sources said. Judge R M Yadav had already asked the CBI to submit a detailed report in the case and the hearing will take place on September 30 next.
The 24-year old poetess Madhumita Shukla was shot dead by two assailants on may 9 at her paper mill colony residence. Initially, Nidhi Shukla, sister of the slain poetess, had blamed Madhumani for the murder but later she retracted the statement.
