Jammu, Sept 05: Pakistani troops today shelled and fired heavily on Indian positions at various places along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir injuring one BSF jawan, even as security forces continued to be locked in a fierce encounter with seven militants in Kathua district. Pakistani troops shelled several areas in Samba and Nowshera sectors in the state during last night, BSF sources said.
A BSF constable was injured in Samba while a house was destroyed in Nowshera, they said. Indian troops retaliated but casualties, if any, on the other side were not immediately known, they said.
Exchange of fire between troops of the two countries also took place at Fetwal in Ramgarh sector of Jammu district during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, the sources added. Bureau Report
