Brussels, Mar 20: Nato early today said it would convene an early emergency session over the beginning of the US-led war against Iraq, and sounded its highest alarm level.
''The allies will inform us about their measures,'' said a Nato spokesman in Brussels.

The military coalition will be watching further developments, but has sounded the highest alarm level as a security measure, the spokesman said.
''This is not a direct Nato action,'' Nato spokesman Mike Laity said, referring to the beginning of the military action.
The North Atlantic alliance however has sent some support to protect its partner, Turkey, and feels directly affected as a crucial consulting organ at the military level. The United States, Britain and Spain, which are heading the military attack, are all members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.
A formal reaction of Nato to the outbreak of war would, however, not be made, he said. Bureau Report
