Police on Wednesday burst teargas shells to disperse demonstrators protesting against the arrest of some people at Maisuma near Srinagar on Wednesday while militants killed two persons in north Kashmir.
Police resorted to baton charge and fired teargas shells to disperse stone-pelting mob near the headquarters of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Wednesday.
The demonstrators were protesting against the arrest of some youths by security forces in the area during house-to-house search and identification parades on Wednesday morning.
Shops and other business establishments in the area remained closed. Some persons were injured and few vehicles were also damaged in the stone-pelting.
