More than 70 people were injured when a train rammed into another train stalled after hitting a wild boar in southern Japan, local police and paramedics said on Saturday. A total of 77 people were sent to hospital, Hideki Matsunaga, an ambulance services official at the Munakata city fire department said of last night's accident. Of them, 59 people soon returned home after being treated but 18 were hospitalised for concussion and other injuries, he said, adding that none of the injuries were life-threatening. The accident took place in Munakata, some 900 km southwest of Tokyo, when a rapid service train hit a local commuter train stranded between two stations. The two trains were carrying a combined 200 passengers. Police and paramedics later said that the body of a wild boar was found at the scene.
